What is the best way to go about building front porch steps?

Our front porch steps are falling apart, and I really want to rebuild them, but im not exactly sure how to go about doing it, any tips? My steps are cement right now if that helps. What is the best way to go about building front porch steps? Its most likely the edges that a going bad,use a hammer and remove any loose cement .Place aboard of the proper height to match the tread height on the step below, you may have to add side boards.Wash it down first with a hose then fill with sacrete mortar mix this will adhere better.let dry over night and repeat on each step,or you can do this all at once with more boars. After mix some Portland cement and water to a watery consistency and paint the entire steps with a wall paper brush, this will give the entire steps the same color.Let it harden for several days before using it,wet it down daily for a week it will cure much stronger..Don't put ant salt on it if you live in a col climate ,this breaks concrete down ,good luck
