How do I paint my exterior steel front door?

My front door is already painted light boring beige. I want to paint it a darker moss green. Do I need to prime it first ?

Thanks !How do I paint my exterior steel front door?I would suggest a paint specifically designed for metal. While completely stripping it isn't neccessary, sanding it down and priming it is always a good idea for doors with outdoor exposure.

If the trim is wood, it is fairly easy to get the color matched or you can go with a complementary color (usually no more that 3 shades lighter/darker than your door) All of these supplies are readily available at Home Depot, Lowes, or any building material store and for more custom colors places like Porter Paints or Sherwin Williams can take care of you.How do I paint my exterior steel front door?If you want to do a good job, strip it, prime it then paint itHow do I paint my exterior steel front door?I don't know about priming, but on a metal door I'd use Rustoleum. It comes in lots of colors, and might have the color you're looking for.
