My front door opens directly onto the staircase leading upstairs. In front of the door is a long hallway with doors leading off to the side. Hallway leads into main living area downstairs. How do i Stop the immediate flow of energy going up and allow it to spread throughout the rest of the house. My front door also points directly at my back door. I would add a door or doors at the bottom of the stairs that open into the entrance area against the walls, so you could close them off during the daytime.

The next idea is to cut a hole in the second floor area in a hall way and put in a grate. mount a fan down stairs below it and reverse the fan so it pulls from above and draws the heat down stairs. this will curulate the air in the home and keep it more at the same temp. up stair and down.What can use in my front entrance that will stop the energy from rushing up the stairs.?Put an addition, like a mudroom, onto your front entryway. There will be two doors, the new front door, and then the old front door that opens into your house. This will keep the heat or the coolness inside of your home better. Otherwise you are talking about Fung Shway. I don't know how it's really spelled, and I know nothing about the subject either. Who knows though, maybe this IS Fung Shway! All I know about Fung Shway is that they sometimes use mirrors to direct things this way and that. And also they like homes very neat with little clutter.
