How to get towels soft using a front loader washing machine?

My towels are never soft when I use my front loader washing machine. I have tried softener but this doesn't seem to help. My machine has a %26quot;conditioning%26quot; cycle so I manually open the machine, insert softener and then put the %26quot;conditioning%26quot; cycle on, this is the only way they come out a little softer. Does anyone know the secret to softer towels beside putting them in the dryer? We have ample sunshine here in

Australia so I don't need to use the dryer very often. Thanks in advance. How to get towels soft using a front loader washing machine?Even the most expensive of towels can become stiff and lose their absorbency over time. The main culprit is fabric softeners. These coat the fibers of the towel with each wash until they repel moisture and each little fiber is stiff and scratchy. Once they begin to repel moisture, it can be more difficult to get them clean. This can cause them to smell musty as well as being stiff. You can soften towels without harsh cleansers and special products, but instead with common household items.

Measure 1 cup of Epsom salt and add it to the towels once the washing machine has finished filling with water. This will remove excess dye from new towels and chemical build-up from older towels that is stiffening the fibers.

Add 1 cup of white vinegar to the towels during the rinse cycle on your machine. This will soften the fibers in the towels.

Place half the amount of towels your dryer can hold into the dryer and dry as usual. Small loads ensure that the fibers do not become compressed and that the towels can fluff properly.

Continue to add 1 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle each time you wash your towels. You can repeat the addition of Epsom salt if the towels stiffen again. How to get towels soft using a front loader washing machine?Great info, I just got a batch on new towels and am determined to make sure they stay soft and fresh this time, hopefully top of the line Canningvale towels will stay soft longer!

How to get towels soft using a front loader washing machine?Towels dried outside are always harsh feeling. All you have to do is put them in the dryer (after they hang out) for about 5-7 minutes and they will soften right up.How to get towels soft using a front loader washing machine? Here are some tips...and I don't think it's the washer, as anyone who has hung towels out to dry has this problem, but try this:

Vinegar in the rinse cycle helps to rinse the detergent and residue from your towels that make them hard and scratchy. One-half to a full cup of WHITE VINEGAR will do the trick.

Do not bleach white towels; wash them with LEMON JUICE instead. Bleach breaks down the fibers in towels and shortens the life of them, in addition to making them thin, less absorbent and scratchy

Do not overstuff the washing machine. Cramming a washing machine full of towels does not allow them to get clean and to rinse out well. Leave empty space in the machine when you wash your towel

Add water softener to the wash. Many people live in areas where the water is “hard,” meaning it contains a lot of dissolved calcium and magnesium. These minerals react with soap and keep it from lathering making it unproductive. Adding a water softener like CALGON to your laundry will make your soap more productive and your towels will come out softer

Line dry your towels, as constant towel drying will make your towels thin. SHAKE your towels before you hang them and shake them again when you take them off the line. If you like, you can quickly fluff them in the dryer before folding.
